Students Lead CPR Marathon for North West Air Ambulance

During the recent Emergency Services Show 2024, our very own Danny met with Olly and Nadia, two enthusiastic students from the Paramedic Society at Liverpool John Moores University. The Paramedic Society at LJMU is a wonderful group of students who focus on more than just their studies. They organise various activities, including Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions, social events, and charity initiatives.

This year, as they step into their third year, these students are driven by their biggest charity event yet: a 24-hour CPR Marathon to support the North West Air Ambulance. Involving 150-200 participants, teams of six will perform CPR in ten-minute rotations over a 24-hour period, demonstrating their commitment to the cause. It will be hard work, but they are more than up for the challenge!

Whilst at the Emergency Services Show, Olly and Nadia spent time speaking to different brands, seeking support for their marathon. Olly had actually reached out to us prior to the show for help with their fundraiser, so we were absolutely delighted to be able to donate an Openhouse Products backpack to them in person whilst we were there. This backpack will be raffled off to raise more funds for the CPR Marathon.

To keep up with the Paramedics Society’s activities or to show your support, follow them on social media at LJMUparasoc. Through their posts, you can see the great work these students are doing and maybe even find ways to get involved.

We’re delighted to be able to support such an incredible cause and wish you all the best for the CPR Marathon event!
